18 Wheeler Accidents in Dallas Texas

in Insurance

18 Wheeler accidents are very different from ordinary automobile accidents. This is mostly due to the fact that the 18 Wheeler trucks carry 1-3 trailers at a time. A single trailer is approximately 66ft, so if a truck is carrying 3 trailers, the length would be around 198ft in length. If a 18 wheeler truck driver were to lose control and send the truck’s 66ft trailers tumbling all over the highway, there would be some serious casualties and traffic would be blocked for miles. If the 18 Wheeler truck was carrying a flammable substance in its containers and the containers just happen to break and ignite the whole truck and everything around would be set on fire. Things could get very ugly.

18 Wheeler accidents are becoming increasingly common in Texas. The reason for this may be due to the fact that Texas has over 175,000 registered truckers along the Lone Star State roads. Many other trucks and vehicles also use these roads. Several interstates, such as I-35, I-10, and I-20 are used as often as possible by truckers transporting goods to mexico. These trucks are often burdened with heavy loads so if they happen to have a collision with another vehicle, the chances of death are very high. 18 Wheeler trailers weigh around 40 tons each, and some truck carry up to three at a time. If these trailers were to collide or land on top of a ordinary automobile the chance of passenger survival is rather low.

Handling a truck accident legal claim can be difficult, considering the fact that the laws for the interstates are often extremely complicated and complex. In order to achieve a successful lawsuit one must clearly demonstrate how the truck driver failed to meet certain regulations such as:

1. Failure to comply with federal safety or maintenance laws.
2. Failure to provide training and/or supervision of drivers.
3. Driver inattention, speeding or other aggressive driving behavior.
4, Manufacturing or design defects within the truck.
