With a lot of pressure from my wife and kids (mostly the wife…) I invested in new chairs for our next camping trip.
First, I had to be convinced about it, but then she prevailed with the argument that I would be spending more time fixing the old ones than sitting by the water fishing, and fishing while sitting on a good chair is clearly more pleasurable.
So there we went looking for folding chairs. You cannot imagine my surprise when I discovered that there are dozens of different camping chairs. Fashion, classic, trendy, ecologic, chic, entering into the world of today’s folding chairs was quite an experience.
Take comfort for example, there is something for everybody: the stools have 3 or 4 legs. Very easily put up or down, lightweight you could even take one on a long walk. Then there are some with a back rest, and for the most laid back among us there are the ones with armrests. Okay, I joke a little about it, but if you go out and try one out you might get tempted to buy the latest models.
Two or three things to remember about camping chairs, they must be folding chairs, they must be lightweight and comfortable. Some fabrics are water resistant even water proof like Batyline® others are labeled eco-friendly, like a greenolene chair made by Lafuna. The Lafuna chair is made from a mixture of fiberglass and acrylic without any PVC. And to finish our attention to details look at the mechanism, to ensure that it will not pinch, a finger pinched while opening a chair is no fun.
When I finished looking around, I decided to buy the eco-friendly folding chairs, then I splurged for a couple of low to the ground chairs, it amuses the kids and I like to be close to the fish, under a shade tree with a hat over my eyes, and ice tea next to me on the camping table…. oops! I forgot the table, got to go back…
