Sometimes it can be really frustrating as a parent when your child simply refuses to eat anything. It doesn’t seem to matter what you put in front of them they simply won’t eat it. Or they might just move it about their plate. You certainly don’t want this sort of behaviour to carry on because it’s not healthy.
Luckily there are tips that you can try out and they are pretty simple really. First of all, you should try to get them involved in the cooking process. Even if you make biscuit recipes from scratch this will let them see how food is prepared and they will certainly want to eat their “handy work.”
If you have a garden you can even start to grow your own fruit and vegetables. Even if you have no experience doing this before it’s actually pretty easy. Potatoes, carrots and strawberries are good ones to start off with. Even those without a garden can grow items in pots placed on their windowsill.
If you look at the different kitchen gadgets on the market you will see that there are loads that allow you to chop up vegetables into fun and exciting shapes. Then arrange the vegetables on the plate in a fun way, such as into a happy face.
Fruit can also be dipped into a chocolate sauce and this is both tasty and fun to do. Kids will just love this and want to do it over and over again.
When you are cooking the food, get them dressed up as a chef and allow them to help out with simple tasks such as scrubbing the potatoes. Kids love to feel like they are useful and grown up and this will certainly help them do that.
As you can see, there are many tips on how to get your kids to eat. Just persevere and eventually they will eat.
