Mini Notebook Computers Vs. Traditional Laptops

in Computers & Peripherals

Mini notebook computers are one of the latest technologies in the computer market. These attractive new models may cause some buyers to reconsider whether or not they want to buy one or revert to traditional laptop notebooks. This is a decision that should not be made hastily, but I hope this article will help you save time, money, and hassle, and that you will find the perfect computer for your needs

Mini notebook computers are also known as netbooks or subnotebooks. They are offered by most major computer manufacturers like Dell,  Acer, and Apple. You can find the right one for you in all the same locations you would look for regular computers, such as big box stores and electronics retailers.

The smaller size and weight of netbooks can be convenient for some users. People who are constantly on the go will appreciate the light minis that often weigh as little as two pounds. They can easily be carried along without added strain, whereas a typical notebook can weigh up to nine pounds. A mini will have a screen of about ten inches, while a regular laptop can range up to twenty inches. Minis are not usually recommended for people who spend a great deal of time on their computer, as a smaller screen used frequently can cause eye strain.

Regular notebooks and smaller ones both come with similar standard features. Webcams, microphones, USB ports, and readers for SD cards. However, netbooks do not have a CD/DVD drive, so someone who enjoys watching DVDs on their computer would probably rather have a laptop or download the movies from another source like iTune, Amazon or other provider. There is probably a mini notebook computers store online that also provides external drives that you can connect to your mini when needed.

One advantage of mini computers is that they are much cheaper than traditional laptops, costing as little as two hundred and fifty dollars. Both models often come with rebates from the manufacturer, and many accessories are available as well.
