How to Work a Red Pillow Into Your Bedding

in Bedding

You have looked at the magazines, and some of the sites and you have decided that you want to change the look of your bedroom, and you want some of those gorgeous red pillows you have seen. Buying new bedding can be quite expensive. This is especially true if you want a designer look. The way to achieve this luxurious, opulent look without breaking the bank is to build your collection over time or just add in a throw pillow. Another option would be to just mix and match whatever is in style but still get a unique and a cohesive look. Use these tips to help incorporate a red pillow into your bedding.

Learn to balance out your patterns. This is especially true when you are using a bold color. You really want it to be a cohesive look that isn’t overwhelming. After all the entire idea behind layering colors is for dramatic impact. You’ll probably never see an unmade bed on most designer magazines covers. For your red pillow to stand out it must be set against a planned background. It’s important to just take a few extra minutes in the room to really arrange things so that you get a cohesive and cleaner design style.

You will want to bring in some neutral color to set off your red pillow. You can do this on the bedding or on some complimentary pillows. Gold is a natural complement and can have a Tuscan wine or elegant vibe to it. This is really important because then the room has cohesion. Another area where this really shines is with the eclectic or international travel look. This mixes and matches all different kinds of patterns, colors and fabrics. This is perfect if you don’t have very detailed or large furniture. Instead your bed arrangement can really be the focal point. You want to keep the rest of the room very neutral so that things don’t become overwhelming. This allows you to bring in almost any color and incorporate items that you already have in your home in order to save money.
