Toddlers and Plush Toys

in Toys & Games

Plush toys are a favorite among all age groups. Also known as stuffed toys these adorable cuddle toys have had a significant impact on children. Kids love the sight of stuffed toys and can play with them for long intervals. The variety of colors and shapes appeal to toddlers. Apart from fluffy, fabrics such cotton, polyester, and silk are extensively used in making stuffed toys. Cotton, beans, sponge and pallets are mostly used as a stuffing in fabrics and sewn firmly to form different shapes. Animal and bird shaped are extremely popular with toddlers.

Toddlers tend to explore new things and make attempts to communicate. These toys get babies excited and expressive. With stuffed toys lying beside them toddlers make attempts to crawl and move towards them. Some toddlers take their first steps making their way towards their favorite stuffed animal. When children get cranky parents give them their favorite plush toy and this makes them feel happy. It is important to buy good quality plush toys as toddlers have a habit of putting them in their mouth. Inferior quality fabric used in plush toys can give kids a rash.

Plush toys help babies strengthen their grip. By holding onto the toy little ones learn to flex and tighten their grip on objects. It is important to choose plush toys carefully for toddlers. Always make sure that plush toys you choose for young children are devoid of beads. Sometimes beads or marble shaped objects are used to form the eyes, nose, or smile of the stuffed toy. Make sure you choose one that is free from accessories as they can lead to choking hazards if swallowed by a young child. Always make sure your selection is stitched firmly. Make sure you don’t cover babies with a baby blanket if they have a habit of sleeping with a plush toy clasped in their arms.
