The Indian Auto Expo returned to the lands of the capital of India after three years with tremendous automobiles equipped with high-end technology and Indian market requirements of family spacious cars to luxury cars.
With numerous new launches of models and some upgradation of old ones, the Auto-Expo was a great event to gain knowledge and go through the world-class launching of new models in the industry.
Here is a list of the top 10 cars which were no less than showstoppers:
1. Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Maruti Suzuki introduced another crossovers kind of SUV at the event, named Fronx. It has been spotted while testing on the roads in India several times and was referred to as the Baleno cross. The bookings for the Fronx are also open and they will be retaliated via Nexa outlets.
2. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door SUV
The successor of the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy has finally arrived in the Indian market. The company has introduced the 5-door version of the Jimny SUV in the Indian market and has commenced bookings for the same via Nexa dealerships. The Jimny is a 4X4 SUV that is capable both on and off-road.
With the SUV boom in the country, Maruti Suzuki seems to have played its cards right but the prices of the car haven’t been revealed yet and with its direct competitor i.e. Mahindra Thar arriving in a RWD drive version for just Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) a few days ago the pricing of the Jimny will be very crucial.
3. Tata Harrier EV concept
Tata Motors is currently the third largest car manufacturer in the country and it definitely has the potential which it can unlock to improve its market position in the country. The company introduced the Harrier EV concept SUV at the event and it lit everyone's eyes up in the show.
4. Tata Sierra EV concept
This one is special as the Sierra was a special SUV in the 90s, it has an uber-cool feel to it which is unlike any other SUV in the market. The Sierra was cool back then and it is cool even now. With its glass rear cabin, EV powertrain and retro look the Sierra is in the top contenders for the best car in the Auto Expo 2023. Well, this is a concept but with Tata Motors it this for sure that their production models are very close to their concept cars. So something very similar to this will be offered when it makes it to production.
5. Tata Curvv ICE concept
Tata Motors showcased the Curvv concept first back in April 2022, now at the event the company showcased a near-production version of the car which is very similar to the concept that they showcased earlier. This is why you should believe what we earlier stated that Tata production vehicles are quite similar to their original concept vehicle. What is different here however is that the company showcased a near-production internal combustion engine version of the car.
6. Hyundai Ioniq 5
Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq 5 in India a few days ago and now at the Auto Expo 2023 the company’s brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan launched the Ioniq 5 EV in the country for Rs 44.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Both SRK and Ioniq 5 were among the showstoppers of the show.
7. MG Hector
MG Motor India had been teasing the new Hector on social media in the later half of last year and has finally launched the new Hector at Auto Expo 2023 for Rs 14.72 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hector was already a feature-rich car and the company has now packaged it with even more features including the Level 2 ADAS features.
8. Kia KA4
The Kia KA4 is the next-gen Carnival MPV internationally, the company unveiled the car in the country at the Auto Expo 2023. It is interesting as the company didn’t unveil this MPV as the Carnival, so we are guessing either the company is saving it for later stages when it finally launches the car in India or it might continue to sell both generations of cars alongside each other.
9. Toyota Land Cruiser
The Behemoth SUV, Toyota Land Cruiser has returned to the Indian shores at the Indian Auto Expo 2023. This might be plain and simple as water, but like we all know there is actually nothing really about it. This is also probably the last generation of Land Cruiser SUVs, as in future the same platform will only be sold under the Lexus brand and product names so that makes it even more special.
10. Tata Motors Avinya concept
Among the comprehensive range of products showcased by Tata Motors, there was this cherry on the top, which Tata Motors is calling the Avinya concept. It is a perfect blend of all the right ingredients to be the ultimate showstopper of Auto Expo 2023. It has got the looks and the WOW factor that you are generally looking for in a showstopper.
It was also the global debut of the Avinya concept which is based on the gen 3 architecture of Tata Motors, that encompasses roominess, new-age tech and AI. It also has an aroma diffuser/humidifier. Tata Motors has stated that it will be fairly accessible and will be introduced by the end of 2024.
