On Thursday, Apple released iOS 16.5 alongside Apple iPad iOS. Its update consists of a couple of new features and multiple bug fixing. With this most recent iOS release, the built-in wallpaper editor gains a new Pride area. The iPadOS version includes some notable cosmetic improvements but does not include the Pride wallpapers. The Cupertino-based tech giant revealed a new suite of accessibility features earlier this week, including Assistive Access, Live Speech, and Personal Voice among others, to help users of Apple products who are disabled or impaired. Later this year, the functionalities are anticipated to become available.
A new Pride Celebration collection of wallpapers is included in the iOS 16.5 update with the build number 20F66, which is said to salute the LGBTQ+ community and culture. These new wallpapers include dynamic movements that make them more lively and are available in light and dark mode variations.
The Following and Search tabs in the Apple News app for the iPhone are combined into a single tab as part of this upgrade. As the name implies, it also adds a new Sports tab to the News app, allowing iPhone users to navigate stories, scores, standings, and other information for teams and leagues they have chosen to follow.
With the iOS 16.5 update, problems with Spotlight and Podcasts in CarPlay have also been resolved. Additionally, it provides a bug fix for the Screen Time settings, which would sometimes reset or fail to sync the features across all Apple devices. All models starting with the iPhone 8 and later can download the iOS 16.5 update.
The macOS Ventura 13.4 update, which Apple also issued, includes improvements for the Auto Unlock with Apple Watch, Bluetooth keyboard connection, and VoiceOver difficulties in addition to the Apple News features and Screen Time settings.
On compatible Apple Watch devices, the watchOS 9.5 version introduces the new Pride Celebration watch face in addition to bug fixes.
These updates are meant for a better user interface and user experience which will not only make a delightful experience for users but even promotes more security and comfortable usage.
