ISRO has achieved a successful launch of the PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) on its 56th mission to space, carrying seven foreign satellites along with it.
In Nellore, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) accomplished a triumphant launch of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) on its 56th space mission, carrying seven foreign satellites onboard.
When did the Launch take place?
The PSLV-C56 mission was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 6:31 AM IST, this Sunday i.e 30th July, 2023, marking the Indian Space agency’s second big launch in two weeks after the successful launch of their lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 which took place on July 14, 2023 from Sriharikota as well.
The DS-SAR satellite which was created as a collaborative effort between DSTA, representing the Government of Singapore, and ST Engineering has been developed in such a way that it could cater to the imaging needs of various Singapore government agencies and St Engineering commercial clients as well.
The launch of these satellites was conducted under a contract with New Space India Limited (NSIL), which was executed by ISRO. The PSLV-C56 covers the deployment of six co-passenger customer satellites, namely, VELOX-AM, ARCADE, SCOOB-II, NuLIoN, Galassia-2, and the ORB- 12 STRIDER.
About 23 minutes after the launch of these satellites from Sriharikota, all seven satellites were effectively placed into their designated orbits.
ISRO Chairman, S Somnath has said that they will be undertaking even more experiments in the PSLV range and there will be another PSLV launch in August or September. He has also thanked the Singapore Government for putting their faith in ISRO for this mission.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, also extended his congratulations for the successful launch of PSLV-C56 with seven satellites into the planned orbit, to the ISRO team. He also wished ISRO his best wishes for success in future endeavours.
The Governor of Andhra Pradesh, S Abdul Nazeer, has also congratulated the team of ISRO scientists for the achievement of the successful launch of PSLV-C56 which was carrying Singapore’s satellite, DS-SAR along with the six co-passenger satellites launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
While congratulating the ISRO team, the Governor said that this successful launch of the PSLV-C56 has contributed to adding another feather to ISRO’s cap and also wished them success in all their future endeavours.
