WhatsApp has recently launched a chat lock feature for Android version 2.23.10.71 and WhatsApp for iOS version 2.23.9.77. This chats lock feature assists users maintain the security and privacy of their communications and chats. Although the app already offers end-to-end encryption, the new functionality adds another layer by allowing users to choose which chats they want to keep private from others.
The conversations can be kept private by employing a passcode, fingerprint, or face unlock option. The function has been introduced globally and will soon be available to all iOS and Android WhatsApp users.
The new ‘Chat Lock' feature from Meta will add a new layer of protection to WhatsApp chats, according to the company's announcement. When enabled, the function, according to Meta, will relocate locked chat threads to a different folder. These chats' notifications will not include the sender's name or a message preview. Additionally, the shared media files will not be immediately saved in the phone's gallery during these.

Additionally, the social media business is trying to ensure that all companion devices with active WhatsApp accounts can use the Chat Lock feature.
To get the feature, users will need to download the latest version of WhatsApp available on the App Store, or Google Play Store. The feature is available with WhatsApp for Android version 2.23.10.71 and WhatsApp for iOS version 2.23.9.77.
